Rovio has been teasing Angry Birds 2 for some now and as of this morning it is officially available on the Google Play Store.
I have mixed emotions about Angry Birds and the latest iteration.
I was one of the millions of people who played the original Angry Birds for hours on end, constantly restarting levels if I got one throw wrong, always striving to get the perfect three stars on every level, always searching for the elusive golden eggs and the hidden levels. I never beat the entire game because after countless hours of monotonous throwing it began to become repetitive and got a little bit boring.
Rovio is definitely good at making engaging games. The characters are enjoyable, the levels are replayable, story is generally on the low-end but the games don’t need too much story. The one issue Rovio has is that they don’t know when to stop a good thing and end on a high note. All the variations of original Angry Birds have been fun but I only played a few levels before I got burned out yet again. Angry Birds 2 was no exception.
They added some new graphics, new dynamics and new methods of gameplay but when it really comes down to it its really just the original Angry Birds with yet another skin.
Is it worth downloading and trying out? Absolutely!
Will it be on my phone tomorrow? Probably not.
With all that being said, download it via the link below and let us know what you think.
