This week has been an awesome week with me getting to go to the Big Android BBQ in Hurst, TX! This was the first time I’ve been able to go and it was well worth the trip! As a part of my responsibilities with AndroidFileHost.com I was given the opportunity to go to the event and represent the team. We were one of the sponsors so I got to get in on the “Ultra Grande” pass and got some good swag and access to some special events. It was awesome!
Although there weren’t as many booths as I expected there were a few good ones. Oppo had a booth with several of their devices on display, Sony had a booth showing their new devices and their new AOSP ROM’s, Nextbit was there and was showing off their new Robin phone, and there were several more cool booths.
I was able to attend several sit down sessions with guest speakers and was able to learn a lot about several new products that are coming, app optimization (both of the app itself and Play Store listings) and a lot of other fun stuff!
Swag and the seminars aside, the best part of the Big Android BBQ was getting to meet a lot of great people and visit with those who I already knew. I got to meet Tom from RootJunky.com, Joshua from Bane Tech, Chainfire (the genius behind SuperSU), many of my fellow moderators and friends from XDA-Developers, and a lot of other great people!
A huge thank you goes out to my friends at AndroidFileHost for making this possible and for including me in the event. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and hope to be back next year!
