This year at Google I/O, for the first time, a special ceremony was held to honor developers and their contributions to the Play Store. That celebration was the 2016 Google Play Awards.
There were several nominees in a variety of categories with every from “Best App” to “Best Use of Google Play Game Services”. The nominees were selected based off of their accomplishments in various areas, both within their app and on the Play Store. There were 50 nominees In the end there were ten apps and games that were given the award for their particular category.
