Huawei Watch Officially Announced – What You Need To Know

Huawei Watch - Stainless Steel With Black Leather StrapWith all the new watch announcements at IFA 2015 it is hard for me to not get excited for this upcoming holiday season and all the new goodies that I hope to acquire.  One of the many items (mostly watches) that has been added to my list is the new Huawei Watch.

It comes in six different varieties with prices ranging from $349 to $799 USD.

The watch comes in a 42mm sizing and the watch face comes with three different designs: Stainless Steel, Black Stainless Steel and Rose Gold.  The bands come in with their own designs that can be mixed and matched (to an extent) with the various watch faces, they are: Leather, Link and Mesh.  In order to avoid “ugly” pairings Huawei has chosen to limit the mixing that you can do.  Although I’m all for making your own choice on the look and feel of the device you purchase I think Huawei’s parings of watch face and band for the Huawei Watch all look quite good.

The watch comes with a 300 mAh battery that Huawei claims will give the watch a two day battery life.  Like most Android Wear devices coming out now the device features wireless charging.

Huawei Watch - Black Stainless SteelOriginally I was thinking I wanted to go with the Fossil Q but then came the announcement of the ASUS ZenWatch 2.  I’m still leaning towards the ZenWatch 2 but this is a worthy contender and I may just have to settle for three new watches…

You can pre-order the watch at several locations including GetHuawei.com, the Google Play Store, Amazon and Best Buy and will begin shipping on September 17th.
