There are many things that I am fond of. First, there is of course my family. Next are Android and watches. With the advent of the smartwatch I have begun to see my watch and Android worlds grow together. With my wife’s recent promise to get me a smartwatch for Christmas I have seen all three form into a perfect union that brings me great joy. One of the smartwatches I have been most anxious for is the newly announced Q Founder by Fossil.
I have quite a large watch collection already with the majority of my watches being Fossil watches. The majority of them are Fossil’s because they have a very good build quality and I really like the look of their watches in general.
I’ve seen a lot of smartwatches come out with specs that are anywhere from poor to pretty good. So far my big reservation on adding one of them to my collection is that those with the best specs often come with a big downside, they are just plain ugly. The Q Founder doesn’t have the highest specs but the looks are to die for. The one downside to the looks is the “Moto 360 flat tire” on the display (the little black shape at the bottom of the display that ruins the perfect circle of the display).
As far as specs go the Q Founder comes with an Intel powered Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage and a large 400mAh battery that promises up to 24 hours between charges. Full specs are down below.
The watch is currently priced at $295USD and can be ordered directly from Fossil. The Q Founder also recently made an appearance on the Google Store with a “Coming Soon” tag, you should be able to get it there shortly.
I’ll be keeping an eye on this one to see if the price drops at all before I commit to getting it but here’s hoping it lands in my stocking one way or another!
